SUNY-Buffalo @NU Prediction Thread!!!

Through 2 weeks, Nono-1, Crawford-1, LCH-1 (attendance)

So heading into week 3, NU is already one off the pace with the loss to IL. If you picked over 7 wins....probably better hope they get this one. These two teams have never played! Turner Gill and Lance Leipold (gone now thank goodness) are both former NU players to coach the Bulls.

Buffalo destroyed whatever Wagner is by like 8 TDs. NU destroyed Fordham by 6 TDs. Oddly Greenhagen for the Rams may have been the best player on either side. Now credited with an NCAA record of 31 tackles against NU! Pretty cool for that guy. So what now?

The spread opened at 11 which baffled the Prophet who was thinking 7.5. Since then it has actually RISEN to 13.5 which also baffled the Prophet. Generally that indicates it is smarter to go where the money is flowing...until it halts lol. After seeing a Conference USA opponent go to IL and win, it really tones down the enthusiasm for this program and season. There is no reason to be losing this game to a MAC team at home, but we've seen it before (N. IL). Which was also about a 13.5 spread. Sigh.

I have to think we win this with another brand new HC across the way, but don't see it being very easy. The overs of 54.5 looks the best to me.

As for the attendance, last week surprised me a tad. Though it was the first game. With the victory, there should be a similar show this week. It is going to be a scorcher with a high in the mid to upper 90s along with the wonderful humidity here. I'll still say slightly more fans than last week at 84,798. If we lose, Trev may have to go to neighboring states for more under privileged kids to keep the sellout alive October 2nd with a 1-4 or 2-3 record.

  • several things point to Nebraska but then there is this is like  a bowl game for buffalo playing nebraska in there stadium  with so much history . Also Nebraska play Oklahoma next week and I can't believe this Nebraska  team would over look any team on there schedule but if that should happen it may help buffalo.

  • Do you have a score prediction Tony? You can chat with us live under the chat tab at the top of this page. After you click on it, If you see other names online to the left of the posting area generally others will respond.

  • The one thing which is kind of scary for Nebraska fans  last year buffalo had a good year and went to a bowl game and ended up being ranked. This game this week  to buffalo may be seen as a chance to make a statement at Nebraska a team and a stadium which has so much history in a way like a bowl game. For Nebraska fans  they may fear if Nebraska will see it as a game they are favored by two touchdowns and a game at home before the big Oklahoma game.

  • Attendance estimate.... 87001

  • NU could use some confidence going into the game with the Sooners, will the RED be thinking ahead.. surely not.. but who can guess anything with this team.

D plays well... NU O typical stop, start, stop, start...

    NU-31

    Buffs-18

  • I am not sure what happened above, but I made a mistake.  Anyway, my prediction for Buffalo is 27-17 Buffalo and the attendance this week will be 86,956.  I have to go with Buffalo because I am not sure this team can play the way they did a week ago twice in a row. They say Buffalo is a decent team and we got beat by Illinois. Because of that fact, anything can happen and we may be stuck with 13 wins for awhile.

  • Lets look at the away games which I am sure the odds will have Nebraska opponent winning ( Oklahoma Michigan state Minnesota Wisconsin) now the home games which the opponent will be favored Michigan Ohio State,  Iowa . The other games Buffalo Northwestern Purdue could be a toss up at home  but Nebraska is probably the best bet.  That is a four and eight record. I think seven  or more wins is at this time funny.

  • seven wins or more.lol this years schedule unlike other years is so much tougher. After the lost to Illinois I think 5 wins or fewer would be more then seven or more wins likely. I myself see a four or five win season and this could still be an improvement over other years because the schedule is so much tougher this year then other years.

  • First one to 40 wins.  And Nebraska does just that and a few more.

    Final Score:

          Cornsmackers        -         45

              Steers                 -         31

    *377th consecutive sellout =  88, 250 loyal fans.
