NU @OU Prediction Thread!!!

Prediction Thread Results:

Nono-1, Crawford-1, TomOs-1, LCH 2 for 2 in attendance!

Well, here we are 50 years later. From Big 8 to Big 12 to Big 10 to SEC. No longer in the same conferences and programs that have gone in different directions in different times. After winning 7 in a row from 1991 to 1997 (record 69-7 victory with Frost at the helm), NU has lost 6 of the last 8. Last played 11 years ago and a 23-20 loss in Arlington, TX.

Fast forward to 2021, NU is currently a 22.5pt underdog which hasn't moved much from the opening line of 23. NU (or Frost?) tried to get out of playing this game which seems ridiculous but has been confirmed. Blah. So a team that is continually rebuilding against one that found solid footing under Stoops and so far, has been good under Riley. Lincoln Riley that is. Must not be related to Mike unfortunately.

I think? our defense can be ok under a normal scenario. If the turnovers start, bad special teams play, or the offense just continues to sputter.....the snowball will happen quickly. I'm not sure how our OL will block versus mightier competition when they struggle with the lower guys. That means more scrambles and more hits for Adrian...who knows the injury bug well. What's the status for Allen, Martin, Betts and Manning? Precautionary last week or more serious? NU needs every bullet in the chamber to have a chance.

In the end I see not much chance of victory. We could play 10 times and maybe win one on a weird weather or a QB injury or any other strange phenomena. Too many mistakes combined with not enough fundamental solid play is a recipe disaster facing a top 3 team in the country. Rattler isn't overly impressive IMO, but there's just too much all around for NU to compete. Yes, it sounds defeatist and yes I think we should still bother to show up lol.

  • A road game against the opponent we were afraid to play is not a good combination. Additionally this isn’t the poor Illinois Team who defeated us (with a backup QB) when we hit the road for our season opener.  They’re not the slow, talent depleted, cool climate based Buffalo Bulls; who will be 1-2 after they get lit-up by Coastal Carolina this weekend.  No this is the well coached, very fast, very talented Oklahoma Sooners.  The gap  between these two Teams will be obvious that Stevie Wonder will see it  20/20 & in living color.  Those with weak stomachs would be wise to mow their (and their neighbor’s) lawns tomorrow between 11 - 2:30.  The Sooners RATTLE the Huskers 52-14!!

    The great awakening

  • First one to 40 pts wins.  OU is #3 in the nation for a reason.  NU beats the spread for a moral victory.

    Final score:

        Cornsmackers   -   28

         Boomers          -   45

  • I have the Huskers winning three games this year and they have two under their belt.  OU  WILL NOT be their 3rd win.  63-17 OU.

  • Are the Huskers fired up to play this game or are they coming in with a defeatist attitude.. heck the HC didn't have much faith in them to even want to play this game... Good things will have to happen in the start of this game to build their confidence in winning or make a contest of the game, hold them to a few early 3 and outs, we score early, no turnovers. If not could turn ugly, the super seniors will have to lead the team for the younger guys to believe a win is possible.
