Huskers Cosgrove Isn't a Good Coach - Stats to Prove it - Forum

Here are some stats of Huskers Defensive Coordinator Cosgrove .........Scoring Defense Rank ....WISCONSIN..........NEBRASKA ........43........2007.........91 .........2.........2006.........24 ........48........2005.........25 .........6.........2004.........71 ==================== ........50........2003.........2 ........38........2002.........45 ........81........2001.........6 ........34........2000.........26 8 year average rank for Cosgrove 52nd at 24.3 PPG 8 year average rank w/o Cosgrove 22nd at 18.5 PPG Wisconsin's scoring defense ranking improved, on average 26 places after Cozgrove left.....and gave up 5.3 PPG less. Nebraska's scoring defense ranking fell, on average 33 places since hiring Cosgrove........and gave up 6.2 PPG more Just an additional note.... Pelini over the last 5 years with 3 different teams averages a national ranking of 5 at 14.7 PPG. Cosgrove is a poor coach and has a poor coaching history. Wisconsin 2001 Allowed 28.8 PPG Ranked 81st Nebraska 2007 Allowing 31.9 PPG Ranked 91st Kevin Cosgrove was hired because of his personal relationship with Bill Callahan, not because of any type of proven success. These numbers prove it, dear friends.

I really think that even if Callahan somehow manages to stay on as coach, that TO will get rid of the 'Cos of all our problems. With our talent, there should be no way to be ranked as low as we are. The last 2 years are running through Solich's staff recruits. They still knew how to play Husker Defense.

If he knew how to coach, we'd still have a top 25 ranked Defense.
