Pelini likes to finish what he starts...

Pelini has been with LSU for the past three years. Next week LSU will be playing in the National Championship game - it wasn't even a question if he would go back to take care of the defensive coaching for this game. "It's the right thing to do", Pelini said, referring to him coaching in the championship game. Yes, Bo, that is correct. You wouldn't want to lead a team to a national title game and then jump ship!

  • ESPN was making a big deal about coaches jumping ship before bowl season gets under way and the possibility of changing rules so that a school cannot contact a school until after bowl season. I can see part of their point, with Nutt leaving early and with the cluster that Petrino caused, but if you have a coach that you want why not offer the job? You would think that a coach would want to coach HIS team in a bowl, if they were eligible, like Pelini.

This situation shows that Bo has the class and the respect for and of his teams. LSU asked him and he checked with TO, who of course is a class act himself, and he will coach the Tigers before resuming his duties with the Huskers.

This is an example of how things should be done, with the teams affected getting what they deserve and not the coaches jumping ship in the pursuit of more money.
