After a hard fought Victory on the road againt Indiana the banged up Huskers will head home to take on the lowly Boilermakers. After the embarassing loss last season the Huskers will be looking to make a statement, get a little payback, and try to let the world know that their ranking is legit (not gonna happen until next week). After a coaching change and a dismal performance last week the Boilermakers have a lot to prove and would love to play spoiler in Nebraska's season.
Offense: TD Tommy Jr has been hobbled lately, but loves to let media know he is 100%. I know I speak for everyone when I say it would be nice to see the Huskers get an early lead in this game so Tommy can take a seat and let Ryker take most of the second half snaps to give him a little extra rest before the game at Whisky. Newby and Ozigbo will be breaking off big runs and the boys up front will be punishing the Purdue D-Line all day long. Moore and Brandon Riley will make some highlight reel catches and Sam Cotton will find the end zone for the first time this season. In the second half Tre Bryant will take over and will punch in his second TD of the year. Pierson-El will catch his first TD pass of the season and will have a big punt return to open up and easy score.
Defense: Lock down U...We've heard about it all year and this will be the day to earn that title for the secondary. Purdue leads the Big 10 in passing yards and the boys in the back are going to get their work in. This would be a nice game to see the Huskers play a little more pressure in coverage and quit allowing teams to throw for short yardage gains. Freedom is going to ring in a sack and Big Mick will also sneak through for one. Kalu and Captain Nate will each have an INT and D Young will have several short pass break ups.
Purdue - 17
Fearless Prediction. Gerry will have a pick six and tear his uniform flexing for the crowd (Dude is jacked). Newby will take one to the house on a big run in the fist possession and Pierson-El will have a big punt return that almost goes for a TD until he is tripped up by the punter.
