On the Raiders 4th (4-4) appearance at the Cotton Bowl they loose 47-34 to Ole Miss. With Crabtree out for most of the game the Raiders really couldn't bring it together. I thought for sure this would be another win for the Big 12. Now the Big 12 North did their part, does this TTech loss mean we really have to take a hard look at Texas and OU to produce wins for the Big 12? Or will the Big 12 South fail to pass the final test in their bowl games?

Lisa - I was not surprised that either Okie State or T Tech lost.

Both Oregon and Mississippi (beat UF in Gainesville) are very underrated teams.

Ohio State is 28-4 vs. present members of the Big 12 and has NEVER lost a bowl game to a B12 team. This will be a close game. OSU may force UT to be one dimensional and I think that Beanie Wells will have success running the ball.

As far as OU vs. UF....Gators by 10!

Gators win with superior defense.
Texas will WORK Ohio State
at least i hope so lol OSU bothers me
Looks like Ohio State has a blemish on that "never been beat by a BIG12 team" record!!Oh well!!! Sorry I cant stand OSU.
OSU certainly now does have a blemish. They played their worst game of the Jim Tressell era and lost with 16 seconds.

I thought that, in general, this was the most poorly played bowl game that I have seen since NU beat MSU 17-3 in the 2003 Alamo...both teams snoozed for the entire game and Lords made 2 long TD runs.

The first 1 1/2 quarters were remniscent of the OSU vs. Penn State game. OSU ran the ball at will on UT and their defense played well.

Pryor threw the ball like an 8th grader. Did either OSU QB hit a receiver in stride the entire game?

Pryor consistently ran out of bounds to avoid contact.

The Bucks made mental mistake after mental mistake.

The game was poorly officiated.

While throwing for 400+ yards, McCoy was not impressive...but was VERY IMPRESSIVE if compared to Pryor.

OSU used their backup QB fairly effectively...but it makes one wonder if he was so good, why did they bench him all year anyhow?

Texas could not run the ball. Texas could not stop the run.

OSU lost their best player, Beanie Wells, early in the 2nd half.

I am not a fan of either team...however, one thing is certain!!!

Southern Cal would have beaten the crap out of either of these teams....they already killed OSU early in the year; but had they met again, the result would have been equally as ugly.

Given MU's narrow win in OT vs. Northwestern (who dominated the game and lost their best player in the final 2 minutes), Oregon easily handling Okie State, Texas muddling to a win and Texas Tech being dominated by Mississippi it does not look good for OU.

If one thing is clear...I think that OU is CLEARLY the best team in the Big 12 at this point. They may be a match for Florida's athletes...it is clear that Texas would have been no match for them.

On the other side of the ledger, there is the Alabama loss to Utah to consider as well. Hard to imagine if the loss of Smith and otherwise lack of fire was the downfall of the Tide or if Utah is really that good?

Tonight should be very interesting....

I predict UF 38 OU 28.

Hard to imagine that either team will run away with this one; however, there should be a lot of running up and down the field.
Well, it should be said that "the south didn't rise this bowl season." Even though UT won, they certainly didn't look like the Big 12 team I watched all season. TTech was a major dissappointment, which goes to show that diversity in the game is a must. Without Crabtree to receive the ball, TTech had no game.

Even though I have a sister-in-law who was born in raised in Gainsville and very much a Gator, I haven't watched much FL football this season. So I really can't say who will be the winner tonight. But if my "woman's intuition" is correct...OU will choke tonight. I certainly hope it is wrong would like to see a Big 12 team give it to a SEC team tonight, after all the Big 12 flapping on how much better we are than the SEC. A loss tonight would be a slap in the face and I hate getting slapped.
Like the killed Oregon State
Steve - Say what?????

Oregon did kill Oregon State.
Never mess with a woman's intuition. lol
