I survived my trek to Boulder with the help of the fine folks at Budweiser and whatever company makes those hand and foot warmers. It was probably the coldest game that I have ever been to.

As for the game itself, it was a fitting end to the Callahan-Cosgrove era. Another HUGE scoring situation from an average football team, that we made to look brilliant.

Offensively, the first half looked amazing. I actually thought that we might have this one in the bag, but the lousy 3rd qtr showing of the team shot us in the foot yet again. I won’t put the loss on Ganz’ shoulders because the D should have been able to continue holding CU as they did in the first half. Ganz did make some lousy reads and missed several wide open opportunities, but in his 3rd start he did very well against a good defense.

Mo looked outstanding. He added to an already solid resume’ with some spectacular catches and a couple of wicked blocks. Marlon looked great in the first half, but a bit tired in the second. As many have said, you practice the way you want to play. It looks to me like they have been coached to play ½ of a game and coast. The problem with that is that the D doesn’t even show up for that long usually.

Our D looked absolutely awful in the second half. I heard on the radio from ESPN’s Mel Kuiper Jr, that “There hasn’t been a defense this bad since France in WWII”. I loved the comparison so had to add it to this post. Not a lot more to say about them.

The momentum shift in the second half was unbelievable. You could feel it in the stands, it was the most unnerving feeling, being dressed for the opposing team. A bit intimidating. Luckily we were in a section with some pretty good CU fans as well as a good mix of NU fans. We all got along pretty well.

I have to thank our new friends and family who really made my wife and I feel welcome. We had a blast and hope that we can do it again soon.

Good headline to your post. Well done. Colorado fans have such a bad reputation. Geographically it would be a place I would love to go to and watch a game but with their terrible reputation...I have never considered it.
Colorado fans are usually at their best when the sad sack Buffs are winning. This year, that hasn't been often...but more often for them than for us, unfortunately. But that's okay. If nothing else, this game hastened the removal of a giant tumor from the NU program. Nebraska is now free to return to the old-fashioned tradition of spanking half the conference, and beating the rest. Then we can move on to disemboweling some hapless SEC team in a tropical January climate. Happy Days wil be here again.
Their campus is amazing. I would go again, but only to an early game. My brother went to the night game 2 years ago when they cleared out the student section and he says that he will not go to another night game at any stadium.
Some of their fans this year got a little out of hand, but were easy to manage.
Luckily, there were enough Husker fans in the group that it wasn't as intimidating as it could have been.
