Last night, Husker Spot had a major upgrade that has added quite a bit of new functionality to the site.
The biggest changes are to the Message Center and Friend Request interface, including:
- Your inbox and friend management center has moved from the top bar to the welcome box on the top right
- Your Inbox is vastly improved and a more traditional messaging center, with separate tabs for your inbox, sent messages and archived messages
- Messages now include a… Continue

Dear Fellow Husker fans,
This week has been full of pent up emotional build-up waiting to be let go on Sept 27th. Personally speaking I am glad the week has gone fast so far and I am more than ready to roll on Saturday. This game is the biggest game we have seen in a very long time (I am not counting USC last year). I have a feeling this one will live up to all the hype and before we get too worked up, I want to take a step back and speak on a few things.
#1. The talk has… Continue

Dear Fellow Husker Fans,
Greetings everybody and the Big Red machine has done exactly what they were supposed to do on paper, go into Sept 27th with a 3-0 record. Under the surface however, some stuff has to be changed, most glaring is the fact the defense has not lived up to its potential as of yet. Before I get into that however, let's look into the last two weeks and some other things.
Week 2 vs SJSU: The final score on this one was 35-12 and to say I was nervous is a… Continue

Hey, I was in a restaurant the other day and saw a poster of the K State and Nebraska game where one of K State guys completly turned a helmet around of one of the Nebraska guys (in trying to block a play or something). The game was in the snow, I think it was like the last play, and K State did not get a penalty.
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of that poster?

We watched a hell of an effort by the Defense. They are already at 1/2 of the sack total from last season, 3 games in. We lost another D-end, but with any luck he'll be back next week. There really wasn't much of a drop off anyway. The guys are moving well and actually tackled well this week. I think that the week off will help, Bo will be all over them on pass coverage. We are still getting way too many interference calls. I'd bet that that will be a key point in the next 2… Continue

Below is the following broadcast message to all members of Husker Spot concerning the new tabs at the top of all Husker Spot pages.
New tabs on Husker Spot!
I hope everyone has noticed the new tabs that have been added to the Husker Spot website. I'll make this note quick - so I'll only talk about two of them. The first is the "HS Gear" tab, located under the "Home" tab (or by hovering your mouse over the Home tab). Here you will find Official Husker Spot Gear, including… Continue

I thought Lincoln got a little crazy during home football games - check out this article
in the El Paso Times. Flashing, riding on firetrucks, stealing purses, oh my!! I think there's too many cops in Lincoln and around Memorial Stadium for anything like this to happen - or is there?!…

I finally got my wife (a die hard Sooner Fan) to go to a home game at Memorial Field. I've been telling her that it is like nothing she will ever experience again. We went (She even wore crimson and cream Husker gear) and she had a BLAST! As soon as we got home, she was online trying to find tickets to the VT game and other home games. I think I may have converted her. Took 8 years, but I might have it done finally!
The game scared me silly in the first half. We had a decent lead,… Continue

Some of the great members of Husker Spot have been asking me what they can do to help promote this site. Well, here are two new ways you can help spread the word about Nebraska's fastest growing, #1 sports and football social network. I've created a poster and some handouts that you can print off (and cut out the handouts) to let anyone know about Husker Spot.
Just right click either of the two links below, and select "Save Link As" to download the poster or handout… Continue

These first three 2008 games are not available on pay-per-view via cable (COX) down here; only on FSN via satellite.
Is there a sports bar or Oklahoman Nebraskan's club here that meets to watch the games? Thanks.

Dear Fellow Husker Fans,
It has been a few days since the big 47-24 win over Western Michigan. I know plenty has been said and written, but after a few days of digesting, it's my turn to give my take.
First, where was the return of the running game: 31 carries for only 138 yards. I wasn't expecting a 300 to 350 yard rushing game to start out, in fact I am not even sure we will ever see another 300 plus yard rushing game. However, on the flip side I was hoping for a 40-50… Continue

Not a resounding "Hell Yeah!", following this game, but we got the W.
The game was a tale of 2 halves. The first half we got away with anything we wanted to do, with the exception of the running game. WMU stacked the box and limited our running ability completely, with only one notable exception of Lucky's TD run. That one run, plus a couple of Ganz scrambles were our running total for the first half. Not great.
Ganz looked great in the first half. He looked poised and… Continue
