Dear Fellow Fans of the Biggest of the Big Reds,
As we sit here a few short weeks before the start of the season the feel throughout the country in all areas is that this is the year. Whether you are a fan of Temple (which is saying Top 25 year) Boise St (BCS or bust) or even the remnants of what will be the Big 12 North (look out NU, CU), across the country as summer turns to fall there is the feeling that everything will be alright for this year. Before I get into more detail of my th…

Dear Fellow Fans of the Husker Red,
When the clock strikes midnight tonight July will be over and summer camp begins which means in a few short weeks the fall college football campaign will be in full swing.
I told you guys many months ago that college football for myself and my family was and still is a family affair. No matter what was happening during the other 5-6 days of the week we could always count on being together for big time football games (NU games or otherwise). A…

Remember some of your favorite TV shows after some key characters left and they weren't quite the same? ER went downhill after Anthony Edwards left (relax, George Cloony fans), The Office won't be the same after Steve Carrol leaves. Most of us probably expect what's left of the Big 12 to do the same. Earlier, I posted about the coming death of the Big 12 and the upcoming Armageddon for college sports as we know it. Well, things have settled down, for the time being and it looks like things wi

I was against moving to the Big 10/11 because I didn't want to be in a conference of hate. OSU, Penn State, every Iowa Hawkeye fan, EVERY, I have ever met spends more time and energy hating Nebraska than cheering on their Hawkeyes.
We need to take the high road and not let our fan base fall into the hatred that runs through the Big 10/11/12.
I'm for the move now. It's good not to be under Bevo's hoof.

Dear Fellow Husker Fans,
Is it safe to come out now? In the post-apocalyptic world movies more often than not the landscape is changed, desolate, and dark. What is left of humanity is left to wander this world in search of food and other life. Well, in the past few weeks of college football we didn't get that bad, but considering the talk that was going across the country, 2012 would have been the end of the college football world as we know it (it could still be). But, before I get to…

My god, the Big 10 with 12 teams, the PAC-10 with 11 teams (and counting), the Big 12 with 10 teams (maybe), no more Nebraska v. Missouri, or Nebraska v. Colorado, or Texas v…..well, who knows anymore? What a #!@$%@ mess!

Dear Fellow Husker Fans,
With baseball season winding down (ok so its over basically for the Big Red), the big talk the past few weeks has been what schools move where in the not so distant future. I would love to be a voice of reasoning but my heart will speak some as well on this matter.
All this mess started when the Big 10 decided they wanted to throw their "television" networking power around and see who, if anybody wanted to talk shop. Next thing you know, the PAC-10 was…

Dear fellow fans of the Husker Red,
As I sit here on a pleasant Monday my football thoughts are these, "Why is fall camp so far away, I mean we have 138 days till game 1 of 2010." Along that line is this, 'Wow, is our o-line that good or is the d-line not that good?"
Before I get into those thoughts, I want to give a few tidbits on the spring game this past Saturday. I must note this before continuing, I listened to the game via internet radio and the only highlights I have see…

Dear Fellow Husker Fans,
After a week in the great state that included driving through a torrential blizzard all the way through Denver, 2 snowball fights in the great state bookmarking two great days (Wednesday and Thursday) it is safe to say that I am not only not liking severe cold weather, but I am also glad to be back in sunny Arizona. As you can see by a few of the pictures I put up, the youngest, myself, and the wife had a fun day in Lincoln which was highlighted by a chance meet…

Dear Fellow Husker fans,
The Super Bowl has ended and the Combine isn't for a few weeks, so that by itself leaves little to talk about beyond recruiting. Now, don't get me wrong, I love the whole recruiting thing and been keeping a close eye on it since my college days. What I don't like is the whole process of the grading system and fact that such player is a 5 star because this guy said so and 4 others only ranked him as a 4 star. Throw that garbage out the window. In my book it is sh…

Dear Fellow Husker Fans,
This is the time where once every 10 years people have a top 10 lists for decades. Well, I'm not here to put up a top 10 anything, I'm just here to talk about happenings of the last 3652 days that have found a way to make our collective Husker fandom go in ways not previously known to man. So, let's rock and roll and time to take a trip down memory lane.
It all started Jan 2, 2000 against Tennessee in the Fiesta Bowl. Well, it was win 31-21. The QB that day was future…

Dear Fellow Fans of the mighty mighty Big Red,
Somebody, ok it was my bride that asked me what I thought of the 1st half of the game Wednesday night? She did add a note, you can only use one word. That one word came quick, "Wow". Before I get into the game more I want to give out a few shout outs.
1. To the Nebraska team for giving me some bragging rights at work. I have a bit of a story to tell. I'm in a carpool to work and had to take off for work really early in the second half. I told the…
