Doug Got 'em!!!

My dear friends Russ & Joanie Swanson are giving up their tickets this year. Russ called to offer them to me & DUHH! I said OF COURSE! Their seats are on the 40 something yard line south, west side under the press boxes, third row. I can't believe we are going to be there again this season. Last year we were lucky enough to receive an offer to buy tickets in the south end zone because the owner was was going to sit in the handicap section. We enjoyed going, even with the Callahan fiasco… Continue

Chris Live from BugahaWest: 40 Days till kick-off. It's media day

Dear Fellow Husker fans Media day has come and gone for 2008 and I really honestly have a confession to make, I'm not a big fan of media day. There really isn't one big reason for it. I guess always looked upon media day as just another step towards the beginning of the season. That right there was the good point, the rest I could do without. Why parade the head coach and a few of the players to a central location to answer questions? Talk has always been cheap when it comes to football and ath… Continue

Chris Live from BugahaWest: 50 days till kick-ff, let's talk 2 sport athletes

Dear Fellow Husker Fans, As we await the decision of Khiry Cooper on whether he takes the contract offer from the Angels or elects to play football for Nebraska, my thoughts go back to the recent memory of Carl Crawford. Most of you should know the name and if not here's a refresher course. Crawford was a three sport star out of Texas that was torn between playing college football or taking his chance at a big league baseball career after being drafted in the second round of the 1999 draft by t… Continue

Chris Live from BugahaWest: 60 Days till kick-off, a few tidbits.

Dear Fellow Husker Fans, We are closing ever so closer to game 2 of the Bo Pelini era. As we inch ever so closer I was reading back on some of the discussions and one thing that caught my eye was that many of you put in personal moments of watching games with your families as the best memory you had of Husker football. Thinking on that I will give my input. After that, I will deliver on a treat promised in my first post, my personal top 15 players in Nebraska history. After that, who knows, we'… Continue

KSHUSKER89 Young D Line, Good or bad?

So many critics have basically thrown out there that nebraska's defense will not be good next year. I kinda think its stupid. Pelini is a beast when it comes to turning around D's hes already done it at Nebraska once and these guys are willing to work. I think the youth on the D line is almost an advantage, they haven't learned all the bad habits, all the dumb mistakes are just from inexpierence. Pelini can show them the way with a little help with some of the most talented coaches I've seen com… Continue

Chris Live from BugahaWest, my Nebraska football blog

Dear Fellow Husker Fans, As I sit here pondering what to say on my first blog entry here I recall something I heard or read and it goes like this. "Every story has a beginning, for without a beginning there can be no end." So with that in mind I will say this, this first entry could and may very well be part history lesson, part insight, part tangents headed who knows where, and part just me doing what I love to do, that is write. Lisa The House that Devaney Built

Tradition is not taken lightly in the Husker Nation as the Red Sea of Husker fans form every Saturday, of every football season, in every football stadium, in America where the Nebraska Cornhusker’s play. It had become an unexplainable phenomenon and a religion for all that were a part of the Husker nation. Win or loose you would find the Red Sea flowing with all its honor, loyalty and tradition. This tradition remained a driving force, in Husker football, since1962, when Bob Devaney came onto t… Continue

Sam New Season!!!

Alright Men. It's almost here. A new start for a new team and a new coach. God knows it was hard for the pride of all Nebraska fans to watch what happened last year go down. I know us Husker fans are always excited to start the next year, but this year it seems like we are more excited. I am guessing it's because we know we can't do worse than last year! Right! Shayne Seibert Spring Game wrapup

What a beautiful day in Huskerland in what was probably the most anticipated game in years. The Red guys against the White guys. The stadium was packed for the first time in team history for a Spring "Practice". The feelings in the stands when the team came out to do pregame drills was crazy. It was a dawn of a new era, with new players in the mix, which made it a lot of fun. Watching Adi Kunalic kicking field goals from 40+ yards through the uprights and over the net was incredible. NeFan4Life Nebraska Men lose to Kansas

Well, just got done watching the Nebraska men's basketball team lose to Kansas for the third time this season. I'm sure everyone thought that we were going to get blown out by twenty plus points, similar to the first two times we played KU. This time was different! Shayne Seibert Coaching searches and the media.

The last couple of weeks have been hell to watch on TV and listen to on the radio. All the talk is of who will coaching where, speculation speculation everywhere.

ESPN made many mistakes during this period, including saying the Bo Pelini was out of the running and that Les Miles was going to Michigan. Kirk Herbstreit even went so far as to say on Game Day that Miles had taken the job at Michigan, which prompted Miles to have an impromptu press conference to state just the opposite.…

Robert Shigley Coaching Search

I am very stressed by the current coaching search because it is so important that we get it right this time. We cannot survive another botched selection. Living in North Carolina, I really feel we could not go wrong with Jim Grobe. No coach has done more with less talent than Grobe on an annual basis. However, I am still leaning towards Bo because I know he would bring intensity that has been missing for 4 years.

Anyone else out there drinking heavily to cope?

Ryan Talbot It is more then a coach that is needed

After watching what I could of the games this year we need more then a new coach.

Yes that is the place to start but we need to get the players to really buy into the fact as to what NU football is all about. It is TEAM not one or two stars. We have never really been a team of stars. Yes a star will riase up but not at the cost of the team. We call them the black shirts why? Becuase they where a team. Yes there where good players who will stand out but they did not make very tackle. Ca…

I survived my trek to Boulder with the help of the fine folks at Budweiser and whatever company makes those hand and foot warmers. It was probably the coldest game that I have ever been to.

Shayne Seibert I don't even know where to begin.

Well, we went into the Kansas game excited to watch Joe Ganz in his first start as a Husker. He did amazingly well, despite the 4 turnovers. He was actually on pace to put up better numbers than Zac Taylor and Sam Keller. Mo Purify looked outstanding, as did the rest of the recieving corps, but trying to keep pace with a top 10 juggernaut was not in the cards. I was completely satisfied with the offensive playcalling on Saturday. We were able to do things that no other KU opponent had done al…

Joe Ganz is what everyone is talking about in Husker football this week. How will he do? Can he spark the Huskers to another win before this unpredictably horrible season comes to a close? Only time will tell - I seriously can't wait for Saturday's game.

Shayne Seibert Was that a great game or what?!!!

I just got done watching the best Husker Game of the Year! Even though we lost, there was absolutely NOTHING to be ashamed of. We came into the game 21 point underdogs and were in the game til the 4th quarter. A 3 point loss on the road to a ranked team equals an OUTSTANDING effort by the good guys.

From the outset of the 1st quarter NU outplayed the Horns, faltering only in the 4th quarter where the Defense started letting Charles run free. The Defense blitzed a few too many times and…
