As a new Husker, in 1966, we visited the Shrine Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children in Minneapolis and spent the whole day with the patients... the noblest thing I was ever a part of to that date in my life... Those kids were truely heroic... It helped me put my athletic career in true perspective.
