Live from BugahaWest: Well, the Sun did Rise Sunday

Dear Fellow Husker fans,Well, as the title of this week blog says, the sun still came up Sunday.  This was a saying my dad would tell me after Husker losses when I was a in junior high and high school.  During those days my dad and I didn't see eye to eye on everything, you know, me being the know it all teenager and he being the wise dad that I thought didn't know what he was talking about.  I was thinking about discussing the game a bit this week, but why bring up bad memories.  I think…See More

Live from BugahaWest: A first half of yuck, a second half of hmm

Dear fellow Husker fans,I mentioned last week that I didn't think there was any way that I was going to be awake for the game.  With the ways things have been going in my work life (more depressing than the game mind you) I went home Saturday morning and as my beloved bride puts it,"went to bed and was out before my head hit the pillow."As for the game, I want to point out the first thing I saw was the final score and I was feeling pretty good.  Then I saw the scoring summary, 42-14 at the…See More

"I'll be honest on this one.  I don't think assistant coaches in general need to be at post game pressers.  The way it should work is a te head coach and maybe a few of the players.  Coach Diaco is not the CEO of this…"

Live from BugahaWest: What exactly was that? Oh yeah, a win

Dear Fellow Husker fans,Where to start with what we experienced Saturday.  There was a o-line that kept Tanner Lee upright all day and a defense that couldn't stop a running nose.  There was something we thought was going away, a balanced offense.  There was a clear #1 at running back, maybe, heck just add the question mark?  Are you happy now?  There is a couple truths today I think we all can agree on.  #1.  We are not fans of Texas.  #2.  We are not fans of UNLV.  Let's roll then and see…See More

Favorite Husker Memory:
"Easy, way too easy." - Corey Schlesinger said these words at the victory party at the Devaney Center the day after beating Miami on Jan. 1, 1995. The night before my mom, dad, brother, sister and myself sat in front of the tv and watched that beautiful game. We were down but still it was only 17-9 at the end of 3 quarters. We all believed NU would own the 4th quarter which they did. I do recall I did not sleep that night, in fact I watched the game again and then sat by our front door waiting for the Omaha World Herald to be delivered. The delivery guy gave me our paper, I opened it and read the headline, "NU National Champs" with a awesome picture. At that moment, I put the paper on the dinner table and went to bed for a few hours of much needed sleep after fearing the previous night was just a dream. Go Big Red. Restore the Order.

Watch Husker games at Memorial Stadium or on the Couch:
I have seen 5 at the stadium and many on the couch. I remember the first one I went to and I took my walk man in to hear Kent Pavelka's call. Anyway, we had row 10 seats on the 30 yard line. I was able to hear the pre-game show, but once Sirius started and then the game it was useless. I turned my headphones off, turned to my friend who had the tickets and during a lull in the action I told him I couldn't even hear myself think let alone hear the radio call. Memorial Stadium is the best

Believe in the power of Red.
Long live the Blackshirts, may they inflict pain on opposing offenses.

Live from BugahaWest: It was ok, for a half

Posted on October 9, 2017 at 7:45pm 0 Comments

Dear fellow Husker fans,

At halftime of this past week's game, the score was reasonable.  In fact, take away the usual Tanner Lee pick 6 and Nebraska is ahead.  Then the second half started and it seemed like Wisconsin made all the halftime adjustments while our beloved Big Red regressed.  Their freshman looked as good as Barkley from PSU.  That kid by himself is going to make the next 3 years rough. But, I don't really want to cry about the game, I want to look at the pre-game aka…

Live form BugahaWest: Let's see where this one goes

Dear fellow Husker fans,

This past Saturday reminded me of the fun Saturdays that myself and a group of my friends had in college. The chat was rocking for the game and to enjoy a game with fellow Husker fans and football fans in general was a great way to enjoy a game.  So, since I want to keep this kind of short, time for a quick story.

As I mentioned earlier, this game reminded me of college football Saturdays at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.  My college roommate and…

Good morning fellow fans of the Husker Red,

Talk about your interesting happenings since the last time I was able to enjoy time with all of you.  Eichorst is out, Nebraska beats Rutgers, and the world does not end Saturday.  Before I get started, I know some might ask, what happened?  I waited all day yesterday for some bit of fun talk from you and you didn't show up.  Well, what happened is this weekend, my lovely wife celebrated her 29h birthday (again) so in between a birthday…
