Live from BugahaWest: A first half of yuck, a second half of hmm

Dear fellow Husker fans,I mentioned last week that I didn't think there was any way that I was going to be awake for the game.  With the ways things have been going in my work life (more depressing than the game mind you) I went home Saturday morning and as my beloved bride puts it,"went to bed and was out before my head hit the pillow."As for the game, I want to point out the first thing I saw was the final score and I was feeling pretty good.  Then I saw the scoring summary, 42-14 at the…See More

"Great input Chris thanks for sharing. Will have to check out the videos on the USC kid. No way I could listen to a Husker game an sleep at the same time. Someone would put me in an institution for yelling Bob Saget in my sleep!"

"I'll be honest on this one.  I don't think assistant coaches in general need to be at post game pressers.  The way it should work is a te head coach and maybe a few of the players.  Coach Diaco is not the CEO of this…"

Live from BugahaWest: What exactly was that? Oh yeah, a win

Dear Fellow Husker fans,Where to start with what we experienced Saturday.  There was a o-line that kept Tanner Lee upright all day and a defense that couldn't stop a running nose.  There was something we thought was going away, a balanced offense.  There was a clear #1 at running back, maybe, heck just add the question mark?  Are you happy now?  There is a couple truths today I think we all can agree on.  #1.  We are not fans of Texas.  #2.  We are not fans of UNLV.  Let's roll then and see…See More

"Thanks for the Blog Chris. I'm not a kool-aide drinker but I got the Husker going 10-2. I see you have the Husker losing to Illinois, I would be interested in hearing why? I might think we would be more worried about the Gophers and PJ Fleck,…"

"Chris nice read!  If the Huskers lose to Illinois and starts a 3 game losing streak it will be an extremely long season.  Let's Hope your Heart wins out!"

Favorite Husker Memory:
"Easy, way too easy." - Corey Schlesinger said these words at the victory party at the Devaney Center the day after beating Miami on Jan. 1, 1995. The night before my mom, dad, brother, sister and myself sat in front of the tv and watched that beautiful game. We were down but still it was only 17-9 at the end of 3 quarters. We all believed NU would own the 4th quarter which they did. I do recall I did not sleep that night, in fact I watched the game again and then sat by our front door waiting for the Omaha World Herald to be delivered. The delivery guy gave me our paper, I opened it and read the headline, "NU National Champs" with a awesome picture. At that moment, I put the paper on the dinner table and went to bed for a few hours of much needed sleep after fearing the previous night was just a dream. Go Big Red. Restore the Order.

Watch Husker games at Memorial Stadium or on the Couch:
I have seen 5 at the stadium and many on the couch. I remember the first one I went to and I took my walk man in to hear Kent Pavelka's call. Anyway, we had row 10 seats on the 30 yard line. I was able to hear the pre-game show, but once Sirius started and then the game it was useless. I turned my headphones off, turned to my friend who had the tickets and during a lull in the action I told him I couldn't even hear myself think let alone hear the radio call. Memorial Stadium is the best

Believe in the power of Red.
Long live the Blackshirts, may they inflict pain on opposing offenses.

Live from BugahaWest: Well, the Sun did Rise Sunday

Posted on September 18, 2017 at 11:35am 0 Comments

Dear Fellow Husker fans,

Well, as the title of this week blog says, the sun still came up Sunday.  This was a saying my dad would tell me after Husker losses when I was a in junior high and high school.  During those days my dad and I didn't see eye to eye on everything, you know, me being the know it all teenager and he being the wise dad that I thought didn't know what he was talking about.  I was thinking about discussing the game a bit this week, but why bring up bad memories.  I…

Dear Fellow Husker fans,

It's amazing how sometimes things come together and a person gets a idea to restart something that was once long forgotten.  It happened not too long ago when I had a email and a post on my facebook account bringing me back to my Husker fandom home.  Many of you probably don't remember me, but from 2008 to 2013 I was a regular/semi-regular blogger here racking up 89 blog posts in that short amount of time.  Anyways, life has a way to get in the way for…

Live From BugahaWest: A Merry Christmas and Win in Jacksonville

Posted on December 23, 2013 at 10:43pm 0 Comments

Dear Fellow Husker fans,

As we have now come to bowl season I do things a bit different than others.  Some give out best of ideas, me personally I give out virtual gifts under my Christmas tree.  Granted this year's real tree is plenty smaller than previous years (the 6 footer had to give way to a smaller 2 foot tree (that's what lack of room does) but that just means the floor is overflowing with gifts.  So, without hesitation, lets get to the gift giving.

First gift is one…
