Wrong Guy won Heisman!!!

Tim TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEBOW!!! BEST EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! GO GATORS...Just too many playmakers for OU!! Bradford DISAPPEARED in the second half!!! #1 - GATORS #2 - USC #3 - Oklahoma #4 - Utah #5 - Texas (but they suck)...would lose to Penn State, Alabama, Mississippi, TCU, Oregon...and probably even Tx Tech again! USC vs. UF should have been the MNC game...but OU still a very, very good team.

    • First off I do not understand why you Are saying go gators, when a OU win would have been exponentially better for the Big 12 then any other big 12 win. Also neither tim tebow or sam Bradford should have won the heisman, colt mccoy's stats and roll to his team was a bigger factor then the other two. Also the idea that Utah being ranked any lower then 2 is lunacy because they have beat an Oregon State team that beat USC. Also, they beat 3 other teams including Alabama who florida had to beat to play in the rather bland Bcs title game.
      • Mohskr - Bradford came out of the gate and put the ball right on the money. He threw some amazing passes. As the game wore on, he wore out. I think that he is a TERRIFIC player!

In direct contrast, Tebow stumbled out of the gate. He also threw some amazing passes. As the game wore on he took the game over! Tim Tebow is INCOMPARABLE!

This kid has an "it" factor that can only be compared to Roger Staubach and Brett Favre combined into one...with a touch of Chris Spielman and perhaps, Brooks Berringer!

Many of the posters here have regarded Tommie Frazier as the best college QB ever. Prior to Tebow I would have given the nod to the late, great Sammy Baugh.

If Tebow is the best dual threat ever, what is Tommie Frazier? The best single threat ever? Inspirational athlete and great player? Yes. Best of all time?...only in the minds of Husker fans.

Take a step back here and imagine if Tebow had played in Lincoln...what would Husker Nation have to say about him?

Last night Lee Corso called him "one of the best 5 players EVER to play the college game".

Archie Manning called him "the best college football player ever to play the QB position"

Lou Holtz has been gushing over him for weeks.

In all honesty, I cannot disagree! Few could match Barry Sanders in his last year at OK State...but, until that year, he was a backup to Thurman Thomas. A truly, truly, special player.

I have been watching the game closely for more than 40 years. There have been some INCREDIBLE players who have played this game during this time; but for all of those "great" performances, in my opinion, Tim Tebow is #1.

Think of the UF greats...Spurrier and Emmitt Smith among them. There is no discussion who the best UF player ever is among Gator fans. NONE!

Yes, Percy Harvin is a terrific athlete....he is Tebow's Reggie Bush! Every time he touches that ball it is electrifying!!!

But it is Tebow who has won the hearts of UF fans since they both stepped on the field together 3 years ago.

Let's not forget that UF started ZERO seniors on defense last night and OU started only TWO! One of UF's starting safeties and their starting TE were among many who went down with season ending injuries before the year began.

How good are these teams going to be again next year?

        USC is ALWAYS loaded.

Then there are the rest....NU has a long, long road to travel if our program ever hopes to get close to the top again. Honestly, I don't think that it will ever happen as we'll never get enough of the "big" talent from FL, TX and CA to matchup.

After all is said and done, UF simply has far too many playmakers EVERYWHERE!

I couldn't agree with you more with respect to Bradford's 2 INTs...plays made by the Gators; not errant throws by Sam; however, he probably should not have thrown the goal line INT just before the half.

Stumpy asks...."First off I do not understand why you Are saying go gators"

UF has absorbed many, many of my tuition dollars. Have been a long-time fan of the school's academics and athletics. Their facilities are second to none. Both of my kids wanted to go there...but we were fans long before then. Daughter got here degree in Gainesville...son got the chance to play college football elsewhere so he did.

While FSU and Miami were peaking in the 80s and 90s, UF was the "other" program in FL. Has been interesting to watch the metamorphisis of the program. I was never a big Spurrier fan as I thought that, like Stoops, he seemed to always come up a bit short in big games...at least they won one together in '96 after the debacle of '95.

"When a OU win would have been exponentially better for the Big 12 then any other big 12 win."

Agreed there...but it didn't happen; not to say that it could not have happened. OU played very, very well; UF was simply better and playing the game in FL didn't hurt either. OU's loss coupled with those by TT and OK State and TX unimpressive performance in the Fiesta, MU's narrow win in the Alamo, etc. have left the Big 12 to eat a bunch of crow...not that there are not some excellent programs in the conference.

The "slam" that not much defense is played in the conference proved out to a great extent.

Defense does win championships. UF has one, OU does not. UF held the Sooners to two, hard earned TDs.

"Also neither tim tebow or sam Bradford should have won the heisman, colt mccoy's stats and roll to his team was a bigger factor then the other two."

IMO - Colt McCoy is not worthy of carrying either Sam Bradford's or Tim Tebow's jock strap...nor those of Harrell, Sanchez, Stafford, etc., nor, for that matter the jock strap of Joe Ganz either. I wouldn't think to trade Joe Ganz for Colt McCoy for one second.

Also the idea that Utah being ranked any lower then 2 is lunacy because they have beat an Oregon State team that beat USC.

Then we should make Mississippi #1 as they beat UF in Gainesville and thrashed TT; the team who beat Texas! In all seriousness, the Rebels came to play in the Cotton and they were outstanding. IMO, they would have KILLED Texas playing the way that they did vs. TT.

If there ever was a system QB it is McCoy...dink...dunk...dink...dunk. He threw for 400 yards vs. OSU and, from my point of view, he was not impressive.

Also, they beat 3 other teams including Alabama who florida had to beat to play in the rather bland Bcs title game.

You'll find me shedding no tears for Alabama. They have a very good team; but never were the BEST team this season. They were a no show at the Sugar and played without their best player. Congrats to Utah...a program built by...of course, you know who! The Sugar was their Super Bowl and they, like Ole Miss, came to play!

I think that was a terrific game...every play mattered as one mistake could/would impact the final score.
