  • I can remember players from about 1964-65,about 10-11, Harry Wilson Rb, Pete Tatum Rb, Solich Fb, Duda Qb, Churchich Qb. After church Dad would buy the Omaha World Herald and I started to read about the Huskers and their games, there were great pictures and game descriptions.A Local radio station started up about that time and had the games on, listened to them on a transistor radio when  working on the farm. It was a big treat when the Huskers were actually on tv, usually about one game a year. Back then ABC  (?) had only one game on Saturday.

  • I can honestly say remembering games in the mid-80s.  My parents were big fans and I grew to hate Oklahoma.  I even had the famous t-shirt "My two favorites teams are Nebraska and whoever plays Oklahoma".  I especially enjoyed listening to the radio calls with Kent Pavelka.

  • 2/12/1952, the day of my birth. My Dad was playing college ball at Kearney and went on to become a football coach. So it was in my genes. Saw my first Husker game in the late '50's. Viewed the goal posts being paraded down O street after beating Bud and the Sooners for the first time. I remember thinking "these are some serious fans"

  • 1970 or 1971, listening to the games with my brothers on the radio as we drove around to find places to hunt pheasants.
