And here I thought UCLA was some sort of newly emerging powerhouse becasue they put up 650 bills on Nebraska's defense. That perfectly explains the Ohio State result since Cal hung in there with the Buckeyes.

Tomko...do you go by Jackson? Are you really a Husker fan, or just enjoying pointing out the bad? I didn't see you post anything after the Badger win, or should I say anything positive.
I'm a huge Husker fan and watch every game religiously. I've flown to Lincoln twice just to watch them play (1996, 1999) and have been to two road games (Notre Dame 2000 and Northwestern next week). I will be wearing Nebraska gear in the heart of the Northwestern student section.
Many of my posts leading up to the season were very positive. This season was supposed to have experienced players and finally some depth on both lines and the backfield, including a two year starting QB. I was very excited after the first game, but now I admit that I am very disappointed and expected better. I can't believe that our defense is this bad....kind of shocked that (and how) it got to this point. I would like to win the next six and see a major turnaround like the Nebraska-Oklahoma game back in 2009, but I refuse to ever be like a Cubs fan and never criticize my team and be happy with 100 losses.
I'm happy with the Wisconsin win, but the game was sloppy and it was almost given away. I stand by my opinion that Coach Pelini is not earning his pay (I'm not calling for his head like some are) and that the recruiting is not very good. Even all of the ones that transferred out is still considered "opportunity lost" in my opinion because they could have been developed better or another player should have been recruited instead.
Respectable response Tomko. Believe me if I wanted negativity there is plenty of that on the LSJ, litr box. For the record I was not one of those who thought Bo was the best hire. It is what it is. I can't stand the way Bo talks to the media or comments about the fans. I am not a Bo apologist, you have a very valid point about the lack of talent in the recruiting. This should have been Bo's best year with all the returning starters. Yeah NU is not getting their money's worth regarding the return on their investment. Not so sure if the Defense is the worst in history but we do deserve better...so do the players. I hop Bo figures out away to get it turned around or it will be a long winter spring and so on...
5 years ago I was as happy as anybody that Bo Pelini was about to become our head coach.
For the first 3 years all was moving in the right direction, or so I thought.
Last year left me scratching my head thinking "This man is about Defense", how can this be happening.
This year is beyond me. I honestly thought Bo would have us with a top 5 Defense year in and year out.
Maybe it's that Bo needs to be a Defensive head coach and have somebody else be the Head Coach.
I'm not sure the rest of the coaching staff is very good. Not proven, no experience, just people Bo knows.
If we are content with just being "descent" then I guess we should be happy. I'm not happy. Something needs to change and it, as Bo would say, starts at the top.
