  • Bo stinks...has beaten no one here!

Let's see what Miami does at VT this week.

They've had a one year turnaround because they hired a great OC, my son's HC at Brown; not a retread or a brother.

NU fans talk about steady improvement?

Miami thinks in terms of dramatic improvement!

    It's 2009...the game has changed.

Bo thinks that he's Bo Schembechler!

Got news? Bo is dead and so is the style of game he coached.

NU fans prefer "family" to wins...that's OK; just be prepared to accept continued mediocrity!

I'd rather see Jason walking the side lines. At least he has a little imagination!
    • Well Tom, I see you've stepped up the sarcasm this year. That says to me and the rest of Husker Nation, we're already making you nervous. Yes ole buddy, we're comin and you and the rest of the world know it. We're not there yet, but we'll be there soon. Of course when it happens, we won't hear from you anymore, will we?
  • So who has "Little Bo Peep" beaten since he's been here?

    He sucks.

My son's college coach at Brown, new OC Mark Whipple, and the Miami Hurricanes go to Blacksburg this week.

Has anyone noticed the turnaround at the "U"?

We'll see how Lil Bo compares to an ex-Ivy Leaguer in the back-to-backs!

Now if NU had actually hired someone who could coach, the program might once again be nationally prominent.

Those days are still very far off...unless a coaching change is made.

We seem to cherish "Husker Tradition" with a bunch of recycled relics and family members at the helm.

    Got news?

    It's 2009; not 1989!

Miami has made the jump in one year.

NU is praying for improvement! LOL!

I'd rather see Jason strolling the side lines at Memorial Stadium!

Fans in Lincoln have learned to accept mediocrity.

    We get what we accept!

    Tom
  • This has been going around..... Hitler Reacting to Virginia Tech beating Nebraska:)

  • The Defense was containing Taylor and keeping him from trying to run for the first down or more. The problem with that was that we probably could have stopped him with a lot shorter gain than they got with the pass completion. 20/20 hindsight.

The guys put on one hell of a defensive show and I'm proud of the guys putting the brakes on VT's QB and RB's. The Blackshirts are back and they done good.
  • I posted earlier in the week that the 2 keys to winning were to control the run (and we did) and stop the penalties (which we did for 3 quarters and 13 minutes). But that 2 minutes in the third quarter was the difference in the game. No penalties on that first and goal and nobody is really talking about what happened at the end of the game. V Tech didn't beat us, we beat ourselves.

This coaching staff learns from mistakes made and you can bet the team will too. You'll see a much better Husker team next week and they will continue to improve the rest of the year. At this point, I can't wait for Mizzou!!!
  • I was at the game yesterday. VT crowd was LOUD, a very tough place to play. We made mistakes, but we will learn a lot from this loss. The stats don't matter at the end of the game, the final score does. Bottom line is VT made big plays at the end when they needed to win the game. I like our kids and what our coaches have accomplished in 2 years. It was a really emotional loss to watch, but win or lose we love our Huskers.

Another note the VT fans were first class before, during, and after the game. Treated us as guests. They have an EXTREME amount of respect for our program and our fans. Was told by a number of VT fans that they are building a fan culture (Hokie's Respect program) taking a lot of it from NU and our fans. Our reputation of the Husker Nation has been determined by not just how we act when we win, but also how we act when we lose. Watch out ULL, we will be hungry.

      • I agree the the kid's heads were really hanging low when they were leaving. I think they heard our "GO BIG RED" chants as they were walking out. They know we felt they played hard in the loss. I think Bo and the coaches will have them spitting fire by next week. That is one of the differences in my opinion with this staff vs. the last staff. I am not a Callahan hater, just how I feel about this staff.
