  • I'm not a big fan of Texas Tech or Mike Leach but you can't argue with his results....

My (actually serious) thoughts on this matter:

    Did he screw up? Yes.

Was anybody hurt by what he did? No.

    1) This is the school that hired Bobby Knight to coach its basketball team.

    2) Leach put the football program on the map. He assembled a group of mediocre coaches and made them look like super stars.

    3) The coaching staff should have taken a FIRM stand behind their man...whatever happened to loyalty?

    4) While being forced to keep them at first...Tubberville will systematically eliminate them to build his own staff.

    5) The administration never wanted to pay Leach the $$ that they were forced to pay in his new contract.

    6) FOR EMPHASIS - This is the school that hired Bobby Knight to coach its basketball team....

Here's what I think should have happened!!!

Did anybody ever hear that major college football is a business?

THE ENTIRE COACHING STAFF SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED THE VERY DAY THAT MIKE LEACH WAS FIRED!

Instead they bent over like cheap whores and the administration took it to them.....

They let their leader get thrown under the bus while they stood and watched!

If they had resigned...all of them (including Leach) would still be working there!

UNL, or some other Big 12 program, should hire Leach (the Mike Martz of Div 1 football) as their OC so that he can stuff it down the Red Raiders throats until he finds his next HC gig!

    Does anybody here remember 70-10?

    31-10?

The whole thing is a damn shame.

      • My feelings on Mike Leach are neutral.

        Does he win football games?

        Does he fill stadiums?

Would I rather that my son play for him or Bobby Knight?
  • He'll end up at a "mid major" type of school if not before next year, at least by 2011. Heck, coaches are given second chances all the time and secondly, when the truth in this whole deal comes out, some people at T-Tech are going to have some egg on their face for taking the word of a ESPN figurehead over their head coach.
  • Ahh! I think somebody will hire him - he's a great coach.
    • A little strange, but he is a good coach!

Where have you been lately? haven't seen many posts.
