The Future is now

We've had two legendary coaches at Nebraska. This level of coach is hard to find, as we now know, as it takes a combination of intelligence, passion, drive and the ability to lead. Scott Frost will be our next coach, no doubt about it now. Coach Frost was weaned under these great coaches one way or another and has the skill set to deliver. But also he's a small town kid from Nebraska which is incredibly important. It puts a chip on your shoulder and you can't wait to confront the big town folks to show you belong and can conquer. Bring on the best. Your Oklahoma's, Miami's, Florida's and now OSU, PSU, Meeshigan's, etc.. Scott was cut from the same cloth that for example beat OU with Billy Sims with just shear toughness. How long will it take you say? Not long, Scott's got the passion and skills and he's headed for the end zone. Sit back Huskers and revel at our good fortune as we watch some magic coming back to old Memorial Stadium.GBR Indeed!!

  • If you listen to self-proclaimed prophets, investigative reporters and guys that hang out with guys in the coffee shop, Scott Frost has been the Nebraska Coach for the past 4 weeks and Moos and company are just waiting for the season to end to make it official.  I certainly hope that is the case, Frost could bring an energy back to Nebraska that hasn't existed since the turn of the century.  Many worry that next years schedule coupled with a new coach destines the Huskers to a 6-6 or worse record.  That may not be the case, IF Frost is the new coach and brings his staff or a large contingent of them to Nebraska they have the ability to hit the ground running "literally".  The Huskers are losing 5 starting seniors who actually played sparingly throughout the year, they return 56 Freshmen, have the ability to recruit another 16-20 that fit their immediate needs and have a senior class laden with experience.   3 of the 4 QBs are capable of running an offense like Frost has, if the DC comes with Frost he is a 3-4 guy that relies on speed (sacks, turnovers and limited big plays).  If you look at the roster there is a lot of talent that needs to be groomed and it starts in the weight room with Duval.  More importantly if Frost comes back so will the former Husker greats that can instill the values of being a winning Husker.  I look forward to the days when a 9-4 season is a disappointment for the players not just the fans.  Here's to Scott Frost and his ability to make Nebraska relevant again, Go Big Red!
