I think the comments of the Sooner fan in Omaha at the end of the article are the most intelligent thing I have read about the current state of Husker football in quite a while. Most surprising is that it was written by an Oklahoma grad. Who knew they taught reading and writing there?
Bo needed to bring in experienced coordinators about two years ago, but he chose what we have now. Big mistake surrounding himself with coaches with even less experience than himself. Now the results of those decisions are creating the situation he now finds himself in. Sadly, I don't think Bo had the capability to see this until it was too late.
He is learning on the job, but not nearly fast enough. His hard headed determination has gotten in the way of objective review of where his program is and what to do about it. Seldom does surrounding yourself with friends and relatives get new results, it gets the same old stuff supported by new people loyal to the guy who got them the job.
