Check this link out, seems Coach Wats submitted his resume to take on the USF job not long after Leavitt was let go.

Personally speaking, I'm glad Wats is sticking around.

I'm glad Wats didn't go anywhere. I really want to see how instantly "brilliant" he becomes with a team operating at better than 50% healthy. I'm really hoping we don't suffer the injury bugs next year we did this year. Not sure, but I don't think we were 100% since game 2 of this year.

2010 is gonna be a lot of fun to be a HUSKER!!!!!!!!

DID YOU WANT HIM FIRED AFTER 2008?

I'm going to have to get you to explain something to me then. You have stated repeatedly all off-season the Oklahoma game doesn 't count because of the injuries that OU suffered.

So which is it, do injuries count or not? Or is it they count only to fit your argument.

Let me put it to you in as clear black and white as possible and I'm going to use a NFL saying for it. The only thing in preseason that counts are the injuries suffered causing players significant playing time.

I am one who has had high and low opinions of Watson as a coach. No matter what happens in the future i will find the 2009 offense to be a little disappointing no matter what excuses there are to point at. However, I do believe Shawn Watson has a ton of potential and deserves a chance to prove himself next year. I was very impressed with the holiday bowl but instead of thinking Shawn Watson is the greatest of all time, it left me with an observation and a question.

Observation: The pack 10 crumbled during the bowl games. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the game, I am afraid to put to much stock into our offense based purely on that game.

Question: Why didn't we try the wildcat or other things in our offense before? By the end of the year people had started throwing out all kinds of ideas that would possibly make our offense better.

All that being said, I do have confidence that our offense will be much better next year. I mean how could it not be?. I cannot help but be excited with the hope of grandeur in the future. I think 2010 will be a fare test on which to judge Watson. We will have a lot more depth and talent.

I am very glad Shawn Watson did not leave to go to South Florida or anywhere else. Although at times it has been frustrating to watch our offense, I think that this late in the season it would be really hard to replace him. It is also very advantageous that he is here for chemistry reasons. Keeping assistant coaches around has proven to bread success. And besides that he does have some really good qualities.

We will find out a lot more next year.

if you are talking to me i stated the OU game was the most importnat victory for NU in probably almost a decade. I never once said the game didn't count because of injuries. I will say hoever beaching a kicker who was 11 out of 13 in field goals because he wasn't tht good and replacing him with a kicker that went 1 out of 4 field goals may have played some role in the game.

my position in regard to waston has changed a little in his apporch to the arizona football i was very impressed. however i still think questions remain if waston and pelin is the ideal coaching combination.. in regard to the 2008 season i never really had any feelings on waston one way or another at the time.

Nobody was happy with the offensive output last year....get over it and move on, NU will be fine next year
