Penn St @NU Prediction Thread!!!

So NoNo wins week 1 and by a critical biased ruling....Trashman wins week 2! (Total game score differential was 8, Trashman had a 2pt loss, Nono an 18pt loss). Hey, he can't win every week! ;)

Well, more poor football from a Frost led team vs a beatable opponent in NW. I guess we can say that undisciplined play is getting sorta predictable at this time? I'm typically just at a loss for words (other than 4-letter ones) when I watch us. Golf or sadly yard work on Saturdays looks better all the time. Sigh.

How about I give you a ranked order of Frost's top 10 wins at NU?

1. MSU

2. MN

3. NW

4. @IL

5. IL

6. MD

7. Northern IL

8. S. Alabama

9. Bethune-Cookman

10. N/A

Sadly in 26 games, Frost has not even been able to fill this list. Is THAT something anyone would have predicted? Callahan accomplished 10 wins in 17 games. Pelini in 14 games. Riley in 17 games. Pretty unbelievable.

So here we are with Penn St (0-3) as our home opener! The Nittany Lions are favored by 3. Last week was truly a "must win" if the Huskers (0-2) wanted to have any chance at winning the West. We are ultimately buried at this point. Much talk has been made about "Penn St's motivation factor"....but realistically, what is NU's? Just getting to play? A new QB?

Penn St lost on a final play to a good Hoosier team. I actually think the ball touched OB first before the pylon but oh well. Lost to tOSU by 13 and surprisingly by 16 to perhaps a decent MD team. NU gets it's doors blown off by tOSU and gets 2nd half dominated by a decent NW team. What's this all say?

It's hard to predict NU to defeat an equal or a poorer team let alone one with certainly more talent. A more seasoned coach as well. Can our defense maintain ok play or is this the cave in game? How much longer will Frost continue his stubborn ways of the spread and inconsistent play calling? At some point, you have to wonder if the humbling can set in. Another perfect weather fall day....what happens when the weather goes south?

PSU 33   NU  27

Cue up the "we're improving and grew up a lot this week yet just not quite translating it into victories" coach/player speak. Sheesh.

  • The Nittany Lions went extinct when the last Nittany Lion was killed in 1856.  That lion was mounted and preserved:  today the last Nittany Lion, which is over 150 years old, resides at Penn State.

    Now onto the game prediction:

Big Tall Yellow Corn     -     28

            Dead Kittys                -     24

*Football is hard.  Math football is REALLY hard.  Just ask no and trash.

  • Huskers, play a clean game

    Penn state plays uninspired

  • No BIG Mo.. going into this game... maybe Luke can provide it... NU 24.. that knitting Lion ..30.. (think that is what I had on chat) GBR

  • The NU-Northwestern game final score was  13-21, Northwestern.  No No picked NWU -28-10 and Trash picked NWU 26-24.  Apparently, since I was a total of 10 points off and Trash was a total of 16 points off the final score the rule was changed.  Based upon what was written above , I added the actual score of the game and it is 34.  My total is 38 and Trash's is 50.  Subtract the final score from each of our actual picks and it still looks favorable for No No?

So Trash should  explain the math used above and let all of the predictors know which formula will be used this week unless of course that will be decided after the PSU game as it was for Northwestern. LOL   Anyway, to give the Trashman an assist, I will bow out this week.
