NU vs NU Prediction Thread!!!

So Crawford wins the WI thread with a relatively close prediction! Nice. On to Evanston with a chance at victory on the prairie grass field. Can the skid be stopped? NW has 16 penalties on the season...NU averages about 10.5 per game. So the Wildcats will not beat themselves. They also have a couple pretty good end rushers (Graziano is one) and a solid cornerback. Fitzy will not allow this team to beat itself. Can Scott utilize and manage this magnificent ball of imaginary energy known as the “Frost Factor”? Apply it to his players and come out of Illinois with a victory??? I have very strong doubts. Hope I’m wrong but Vegas was probably closer at the opening line.

NU 23

NW 31

  • The magic eye is a little bloodshot over this game prediction.  I don't like to lose, and that isn't so much because it is just a football game, but because defeat means the failure to reach your objective. The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. Build up your weaknesses until they become your strong points. And we have weaknesses to build on... Red N 31 .. that directional school 35.. we keep having good practices and building our weaknesses.

  • Ok, I will give it another go.  One of these days the Frost Factor is going to pan out and it could very well be on Saturday.  NW does not need to let their grass grow out to slow down the Huskers.   We have slowness down!  Usually, we make bad teams look good and I am going to predict that this is not going to be one of those games.  You have two bad teams that don't play team sports very well.  However, NW does it with less penalties.  If NU is going to get a win this year they just as well start on Saturday.  NU 24 and NW-13.  It is going to be 54 degrees with sunny skies.  There will be no excuses for not getting their first win of the year.  The West is out, the BIG 10 Championship is out and making the playoffs is pretty shaky.  We could make a low tier bowl, but the season is running out and we need to start now.  Plus, the Huskers have never, ever started a season with Six losses.  Thanks Akron.

  • Northwestern is NOT located in the present day northwest US, but at one time it WAS located in the northwestern territory of the US.   The University is located on 240 acres, with 21,208 students which translates into 88 students per acre.  It has a 93% graduation rate with only a 13% acceptance rate.  OK...so now that you are yawing, on to the prediction:

NW is 2-3 on the season with a signature win vs. Sparty.  On the other hand, NW has lost to both Akron (who?) and to Duke (yikes).  Ironically,  NU and NW are both 0-3 at home this  year.  The Wildcats are ranked 107th in the nation on offense, and the NU defense is ranked 105th, so it will be a battle of a bad offense vs a bad defense.  (There will be strain...)  On the other side, NU seems to have an advantage offensively with AM's improvements vs. NW's defense.  So after consulting the 'ol Magic 8 Ball, and with a double check of the Ouija Board, and a triple check with Paper/Rock/Scissors algorythms , it is quite clear that Trashman's prediction is spot on....except he reversed the numbers.

Look for the upset.  There will be chaos.  Scotty Frost gets the monkey off his back.  Bill Moos is buying the drinks at Misty's.

Final Score:  Big Red Lion Tamers  31

                        Little Purple Mildcats    23
