NU @ Rutgers Prediction Thread!
Well, Trashman seals up another prediction thread victory with a “closest win by NU” taking the prize. Sheesh.
The team has landed in snowy Piscataway and hopes to somehow secure a 3rd victory of the season. Rutgers is playing for a 4th win and could be a bowl option should they win. My thoughts is NU is done after this one regardless. And really should be.
Vedral is likely out and Jaimes has opted out. My guess is he won’t be alone at season’s end as Frost may struggle to hold on to players at this point as bad as the offense is. Sadly there didn’t appear to be a ton of help in the last recruiting class either. Is there any playmakers for Scott to utilize in his “chunk play offense”? Or will he FINALLY start rethinking this circus he trots out onto the field?
The spread is NU by 6.5 and I’m not sure I understand that. As far as common opponents go....Rutgers played tOSU closer, IL closer, both beat Purdue relatively close. We did beat PSU and they lost to them. But Rutgers can score. In fact their offense averages about 4 more points per game than ours....ironically with our old QB. Sigh.
Vedral may be out, but their backup performed fine in an OT win over MD. 12/19 for 90yds, 1TD. 5 carries for 8yds. Schiano has a LOT of experience and is a known defensive coach. He’s also someone you took this school to the top 10 in his first stint there. I expect him to attack Corcoran on Adrian’s blindside with mixed blitzes. If Frost gets his typical pass happy....could be issues there.
Pretty tough to pick NU at this point. Wind was let out of the sails after (well sadly maybe before) IL. Frost can’t help but continue to run Mickey Mouse pass plays when everything says to work the power run game. I expect another out-coached type result:

Time for this season to end and the chant "wait till next... ya know".. maybe SF will have an epiphany in a new year...and foresee a better O plan..one would hope anyway.
