"Rick Kaczenski has coached in plenty of Big Ten football games.

But it's clear the first-year Husker defensive line coach felt the atmosphere surrounding Saturday night's Nebraska-Wisconsin game was among the tops he's been involved in.

"It was unreal," said Kaczenski, who spent the past seven seasons on Iowa's staff. "I kept pulling my headsets off every once in a while just to get the effect of how loud it was. It was just unbelievable seeing those towels waving and seeing that sea of red. Then after the game, I had my family on the field. Special gig, man."

It's a gig Kaczenski joked he wondered if he'd keep after his reaction to Nebraska's late-game stand on fourth-and-1.

"I think I almost got fired," he said. "Because Bo was the closest guy to me and I just grabbed him. I had no idea what I was doing. So I was a little bit worried (laughing) how Bo was going to react.

"I was kind of kneeling right behind the ball. I saw the ball come out, and I saw a white shirt and I just grabbed it. It was Bo. Once I figured out it was Bo, I let go pretty quick and then tried to find JP.""
