The Huskers were able to get back on track last week against an overmatched South Alabama team that struggled mightly to run the ball against a stout D-line and the makeshift linbacking core. The secondary (especially Daniel Davie) looked very soft yet again and will need to get some serious work done as the team hits to road to take on the Miami Hurricanes. After the chippy exchanges and onfield altercations from last year the Hurticanes are looking to make a statement in this upcoming battle.
Offense: I've said it the last two weeks and this week will be no different. I am excited to see "Louisianna Smooth" Cethan Carter finally back in the game plan for this week. I have been a big support of Carter and think that his athletecism and ball catching skills are really going to help the Huskers on offense this season. I was happy to see Riley and the coaching staff settle on a running back (even though I was pulling for Wilbon) and I think Newby looked good, but will have to bite down a little harder on his mouthpiece this week to gain yards against a big and tough Miami D-line. The receiving corp looks great and I look forward to Westy seeing a few more looks this week. TD Tommy has improved in his passing, but needs to think RUN when coverage is tight and he sees an opening at the line. Look for Zo Moore to catch some deep passes and Riley to carry a few defenders for extra yardage,
Defense: The one weekness I really noticed watching the Miami/FAU game was that the O-line seemed really confused and inexperienced. This will be a great opportunity for Banker to let Collins, Big V, and Freedom loose to rush Brad Kaaya and the sack total should be high. Again the secondary has really failed to impress the last few weeks and need to lock down some really good Miami receivers if we have any chance to win this game on the road. Gerry and Cockrell will need to keep thier heads on a swivel and provide that extra assistance if someone gets beat. The linebackers will hopefully be back at full strength if Bando is able to return and Rse-Ivey will be causing some serious pain in the backfield.

Fearless Predictions: Again I keep saying it and someday it will come true...Give Andy Janovich the ball at the goal line and see what he can do. Jano is a beast and I really feel he could help the team with an occassional carry. Cethan Carter will catch at least 6 targets to help move the chains and Newby will score twice to outshine his preschool buddy Kaaya. Collins will destroy Kaaya in the second half sending him to the locker room on a stretcher. Kaaya will return in the 4th, but will refuse to go back onto the field unless #7 is in on the sideline.
This game is going to be on the our-line on both sides of the ball. Miami gave up huge running stats to FAU, that said FAU is pretty equal to S bama in looks ,speed and toughness. If we get off to a good solid start this won't be a nailbiter!!
change that to "only converting 25% on 3rd down"
One think I won't do is predict a Husker loss. One thing Miami has going against them is Al Golden . The fan base is more toxic toward Golden then Husker fans toward Bo or Bo toward a Big 10 Official....
