Here Come Ben Green's Spartans!

I think that we lose 27-21.

TMart ain't no Russell Wilson or Denard Robinson.

Rex ain't no Monte Ball.

This defense would need to play the game of it's season and/or we need to break big plays with our team speed.

It could be that MSU has a letdown after consecutive wins vs. OSU, UM and the BADgers but they are clearly the better team.

We know that Bo is going to be outcoached in this game so we need to win DESPITE him.

    • If we can't put pressure on Cousins we are in BIG trouble.  We can't underestimate the MSU offense.

Baker seems to have his best games against teams that don't play the run well as he is a big play, homerun hitting back. He also has lost a fumble in each of the Spartans last two games.

Bell is a load who can run between the tackles, get around the perimeter and he is a good pass catcher.

The closer the game the more that we will see Bell.

    • MSU lost two O lineman to career ending injury.  They lost a couple others to injury.  It took a while for the O linemen that were left to develop.  Still not great but they're doing a decent job now.  The D also took several games to fully develop.  MSU has played better as the season has progressed.  Wiscy is a strong team, no doubt.  MSU played them tough and got lucky at the end.  Next Saturday will be a tough test, on the road in a packed house.

        • ND was playing on their home field at 0-2 with their backs against the wall in a must win game.  They play for BCS games (not that they have been to one recently) as they are an independent.

No ND coach will be able to proclaim success until they get to and/or win a BCS game.

This game was not critical to MSU's goals of winning a B10 championship and going to the RB.

Similarly, NU is facing a must win on their home field.  A loss and our pursuit of the B10 championship is over.  It is a must win for us but not for them.  We'll see how it plays out.

FYI - TMart is mouthing off.  It wasn't the MSU defense that stopped Denard Robinson, it was the wind.

MSU has "stoned" Robinson and UM in two straight contests.  TMart needs to watch out for #9.

    • We are playing with our backs against the wall in a "must win" game at home.

The game means more to us than MSU as they are unbeaten.

If we can't win this one we must realize that we are not conference championship material.

The comeback vs. OSU was, to say the least, improbable.  We've been out there dodging bullets this season.

  • It's anyone's game.  It's at home for NU.  (Is that right?  NU and not UN?)  Nebraska is 6-1.  Not a powerhouse but can put points on the board.  Good if not great D.  MSU seems to bring whatever it takes week after week.  But the Spartans have not played their best on the road over the past few years.  It's a tossup.
    • Huskers favored by 4 1/2.

What do "they" know that "we" don't?

        • Daemon - Was it worth the trip to MN to watch NU play the Goofers?

    • This is a MUST win game.

MSU likely only needs a split in road games with NU and Iowa to win the Legends unless either NU or IA beats MSU and runs the table.  I  don't see that happening.

MSU also faces Indiana and MN at home and ends the season at Northwestern (an always dangerous team).

  • I think it will be close...should be a great game! Sounds like the winner will go to Indy or will control their own destiny. Last night's game was AWESOME!!!

Thanks Joe. Hope the finger is ok after last night!

Spartans beat in-state arch rival #11 UM last Saturday on TV, got press all week about playing mean, nasty football, beat #4 Wisconsin last night with GameDay national coverage. Couldn't buy that massive amount of publicity. Not a bad week and a few hours work!
