Is it too early to start talking about Rex Burkhead for Heisman?
Here is an article about it from B/R:

ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE.
Mike - Nice player but are you delusional?
Bo's not going to win it with this talent.
Burkhead's chances are better than Pelini's.
Permalink Reply by Tomko on February 12, 2012 at 7:21pm We'll know on the first play of the first game this year. If Rex takes the hand-off and runs for 0 yards like the first play against the mighty Chattanooga Mocs, then there is no chance.
Don't get me wrong though, I like Rex and would love to see him sneak into the final four by December, but I'm also a realist. I don't think our offensive line is there yet to help make it happen.
Chad says "If Nebraska relies on Burkhead in 2012 like it did in the Michigan State and Iowa games, Burkhead will be sitting in the front row at the Downtown Athletic Club for the Heisman Trophy ceremony."
I think that it would be more likely that Rex would be watching from his hospital bed if Bo were to ask him to touch the ball more than 35 times per game as he did vs. MSU and Iowa. In those games he had 290 yards on 73 carries (just less than 4.0 yards per carry).
4 yards per carry is not what Heisman winners are made of.
I hope to see Rex have only 70% or our carries in 2012...if he's fresh his yardage per game might increase.
