Osborne's here, now a new Husker coach is needed - Gill or Pelini?

I'm really glad that Tom Osborne is back in the system, but I think now we have to think about a new head coach. Osborne's impact can only go so far with the Cornhuskers - we should focus on getting a new head coach. Who do you think would be better for the job: Bo Pelini or Turner Gill?

I'm gonna go with Pelini. Look at what he's done with LSU. Enough said.

Personally, I would like to see a defensive minded coach, so I would be thrilled with Bo. Although I love and respect Turner Gill, I would have some reservations, but would support him fully if he was hired. One candidate from outside the program that I would also like to see would be Brian Kelley, the head coach at Cincinnati. The job he did at Central Michigan and Cincy are quite impressive.

Whoever the next coach is, he must embrace the Nebraska tradition and honor it by bringing in some assistants with Nebraska ties. Bill Busch is the only current staff member that has Husker ties, being a grad assistant under Osborne for one year.

Between Bo and Turner, let's go Bo!
No disrespect, but Dan McCarney? He's the defensive line coach at South Florida, not the head coach or even defensive coordinator. I'll agree that he did a respectable job at Iowa State, which may be one of the most difficult jobs in college football, but he would not succeed at Nebraska.
No disrepect taken. Im not an ISU fan, but I have alot of respect for McCarney. And ANYONE would be better then CALLAHAN! I wouldnt have minded Steve Spurrier at the time they hired BC. Or do they call him "Calhoun" now? Anyway, I personally think there isnt anyone who can succeed at Nebraska the way Osborne did. He's a hard act to follow.
I agree that the success Nebraska had under Osborne will never be duplicated by anyone. The only thing Callahan has been correct on is that there is parity in college football.

I just want to see a coach that will restore the walk on program and embrace the values of the Nebraska tradition.

Personally I like the hire that K-State made in Ron Prince. He's not from the Bill Snyder coaching tree, but he embraced the K-State traditions, and has possibly added to them. I really like the fact that he took his team to Fort Riley and had them put through a day of boot camp with the troops. Ron Prince may do some strange things, but I like his approach and the way his players play for him.

If Nebraska does reach outside the Nebraska family, we must find someone who the players will play hard for.
Obviously it worked. K-State's doing great!
They should have grabbed Dan McCarney when he left Iowa State. Look what he's done at South Florida! Personally, I like Turner Gill. He's a true Cornhusker. He played there, he coached there. He knows Nebraska football!
TO told 590 how that rumor got started yesterday. That and more from KETV.com is below:

Alright Dudes! What's the latest? I live in Iowa, so there is absolutely nothing on our TV stations about anyting to do with Nebraska. This has been my lifeline. I've been in touch with my friend in Lincoln, who is a freind of Osborne's, and he says Tom won't make a decision on the head couch until next year. Is this true? Cause if it is, this year is in the toilet! And we're only half way thru it!
